01 / Who we are

a retail design studio built around sales

Total Varejo is a commercial architecture and retail design studio headquartered in Cuiabá, Brazil, specialized in physical stores, especially food retail.

Every project starts with the business: audience, competition, operations and sales goals. Architecture, lighting, materials and visual communication then work as tools to make the store sell and position the brand.

The studio is a family partnership led by Attilio Rondinelli (CEO and founder), Attilio Francesco Rondinelli (architect and retail designer) and Danilo Rondinelli (retail designer). We work with retailers across Brazil and welcome international projects.

02 / Recognition

recognized by the Retail Design Institute

Our stores won Retail Design Awards from the Retail Design Institute Brasil in 2016, 2018, 2020 and 2022, plus the Retail Design Prize for Hortigran Express in Porto Velho.

In 2021 the studio was the big winner of the 8th Design de Varejo awards, with six national awards in a single ceremony.

In 2020 our concept store for an agricultural retailer in Araguaína was featured at Retail of Tomorrow.

03 / Method

five steps from diagnosis to implementation

Diagnosis, Strategy, Design, Visual Identity and Implementation.

Deliverables include store layout, flooring, ceiling and lighting plans, sections, elevations, construction details and visual communication, ready for budgeting and construction.

During implementation we support the client and the builder to keep the store faithful to the design.
